New painting over old. I like the holes and gaps when I apply a new layer over a previous one, it's an act of covering, hiding also reforming, reconsidering an action. Working this way way reminds me of textiles and those t-shirts that are thin and have a few holes and your mother might tell you to throw it away but you like the feeling of worn in cotton over something stiff and new.
